I wish my life were more interesting lately, but it’s not. Work is work. Kev’s job is still sucking right now. Finding better jobs is not going so well. Bleah.
Ravelry is keeping me busy, especially a new group that I’m helping mod and OMG is it a timesuck. Nothing like modding a large quivering mass of proto-drama to keep you on your toes. it’s been a giant time suck during my days off this week.
I do manage to get SOME knitting done, so here is a nice progress shot of my Kiri shawl:

amazing progress, considering I only work at it when I’m at knitch. Hmmm…this doesn’t really give you a good perspective on how big it’s gotten, huh?

there ya go. Perspective and coolness, all in one shot. of course, if it were blocked, it’d be much bigger, so really FANTASTIC PROGRESS, ESC! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AT A PAINSTAKINGLY SLOW PACE!

Today I leave you with an oh-so-happy pic of Sadie, who got a bath because she was a smelly, dirty, UBER SHEDDING bad girl, and also got her nails trimmed. Two of her least favorite activities. But then she got a football kong with a treat shoved in it, and it was mostly all better. Mostly.

Oh New Purse, how I love you so. We were meant to be together, you and I. We meet each other’s needs perfectly. Not like my Old Purse. Old Purse was a cheap fling, found at the spur of the moment and only to fulfill a temporary need. Old Purse and I never really got along, and Old Purse never really lived up to its potential. It was floppy and nonsupporting. And the zipper kept getting caught. When the zipper tore a giant hole in Old Purse’s lining, I knew it was time. Time for a new purse. A better purse. One that would stand the test of time. A big purse that will fit all my stuff, but not be to bulky. A purse with easily accessible pockets that will fit my cell phone and ipod easily, but also make them accessible in a hurry. A purse with a shoulder strap, not with the weeny little handles that are so fashionable these days. that force me to use a hand to hold - a hand that could be put to better use fondling yarn, and warding off creepy homeless people! But you and me, we don’t care about fashion, do we? No. We care only for cuteness and comfort. More »« Less
Don’t forget your mom today!

one more work related rant: Old lady? You asked me if we had any black capri pants. Oh MAN do we have black capris. In every fabric and fit imaginable. Yet every rack I pointed you to, you turned your nose up at. You asked for them to be “stretchy.” I showed you 3 kinds of stretchy. No go. Did you really want black capris? Or were you just trying to be a bitch? More »« Less
My shoes are in! and they are super cute! and umm…I’m not sure if they fit. To be fair, I’m trying them on after being on my feet for 8+ hours, so my feet are probably a little swollen as well as being sore. I’m going to wait a bit before I try them again.
I told myself that I wasn’t going to blog about my part time job here, mostly because it’s boring and also because it’s not in EVIL SCIENCE. However, there are some things I have to get off my chest: More »« Less
We are not evil and completely resistant to opposing ideas. Here is proof. Please re-evaluate some of your statements. They are wrong, inflammatory, and do more harm than good.
The fridge is fixed! Actually, it was fixed thursday. I gave up a day off to wait all morning and afternoon to wait for the repair guy. He finally showed up at 4. He came in walked behind the fridge (which we had already helpfully pulled out and into the dining room for easy access), took a 0.05second look, and said “well, I see what your problem is right now.” More »« Less
A few days a week, I participate in the email conversations between Aimee, Julie, Sloth, and myself. These conversations are one of the few things that keep me sane. More »« Less

So healthwise, things are looking up here. I am still stuffy headachey, but the zombie feeling has left - you know, where you wander around in a fog of oxygen deprivation, throbbing sinuses, and various cold medications? What fun. I freaked the fuck out of a bunch of people at Target on Saturday. That was amusing. More »« Less
