1. I am feeling much better. like getting out of a bad relationship, I feel cleansed, yet drained. and a little sore in my lower abdomen. also hungry.
2. this morning, I got to chat online with Brenda Dayne (along with other people). For those of you who don’t know who I’m talking about, this will mean nothing. But for those of you who DO know…hehehehe…sweet. Go ahead and be jealous. I’ll wait.
done? She is just as charming and funny in a chat room as she is in her podcast. And since she declared it a “no fawning zone,” I behaved myself completely. Though I was a little tingly. Just a little. Because there is just the OFF chance that she might visit this site. And that…would just be awesome. She probably won’t, but STILL…the possibility is there!
3. on tap for the weekend: thanksgiving planning. this will be my first dinner on my own - and event though it’s just Kev and me, I’d like to not screw it up. What are you favorite thanksgiving recipes?
Glad you are feeling better.
And I have no idea who Brenda Dayne is, but I’m sure she is . . . something.
Brenda Dayne - Podcast at Cast-on.com it is about knitting! What do I win?
Q. What’s The Daily Randi’s Favorite Recipe For Thanksgiving?
A. Reservations!
google searching brenda dayne wins you nothing. if you don’t get a little flutter in your knitter’s soul at the mention of her name, IT DOESN’T COUNT! NO PRIZE FOR YOU!
and reservations are cheating. I actually LIKE to cook. messed up, huh?
Big hint #1–Get a roasting back for the turkey.
Big hint #2–Get that bag now before your store runs out.
Big hint #3–Tell Kev he can deep fry that turkey NEXT year.
Email me if you want recipes–we usually do the traditional thing here.
I just picked my recipes, I think. we’re going with alton brown’s roast turkey recipe, as long as I can find a SMALL whole turkey.
a roasting bag might work with that, though. hmmmm…
You need to do a MAYO turkey. I don’t know if you’ll find the recipe anywhere since I created it myself…
Before cooking, rub your turkey with salt and a few handfuls of SAFFLOWER mayonaise. Make sure you rub the inside of the turkey’s cavity as well (I swear I’m not trying to be dirty!). I use surgical gloves to accomplish this, as the salt-mayo mix can be hard on sensitive skin. Add your favorite spices and cook for the recommended baking time. I promise that the turkey will be the moistest, melt-in-your-mouth-est turkey you’ve ever tasted. The mayo coats the turkey’s skin and makes it brown up and keeps all the juicy fat on the inside where it belongs.
By the way — NOT a low-fat recipe.
LOTS of po ta toes! LOTS of STUFFING!!! That spinach you made that one time I was there ROCKED, too!
Oh, and I love the random pics that get published with comments!!!
I may have to publish another comment to see another one…
YAY!
