Oh god…make it stop.
You know that magical stomach bug that teases you by making you hungry, yet WHATEVER you eat just kicks right back up on you?
That’s what I have.
Kev is concerned it’s the flu. I doubt it. I have some body aches and chills, but no fever. Plus I am still somewhat functional, in that I can make it from bed to my couch without dying in the process.
As soon as I am feeling better, though: flu shot.
Many thanks to Aimee and Cinn, who talked up mashed potatoes (comfort food) and garlic bread (garlic is good for you when you’re sick). I made up a batch of both last night. Delicious.
They looked lovely the second time around this morning - as if my body had spent the whole night resisting their absorption. Good advice there…yeah.
Today, I am sticking to all liquids. Tea. Water. Broth.
I hate this. At least if I can’t go to work, I would love to be able to clean up the mess that is my home. But no. I am going to go back to bed. Right. Now. With tea.
later, yo.
Cyber hugs, dear. Cyber Hugs.
Flu is aches, cough, fever, feeling like death. Stomach bugs are a totally seperate category. If you are vomiting and get a high fever, it’s probably something to see your doc about. Otherwise, clear liquids in small amounts, often, until you stop vomiting for at least 4 hours. Dry toast if you have to! No butter or dairy for a few dayssss!
Your nurse has spoken!
i had toast and campbell’s chicken noodle soup for lunch. my stomach rumbled about it for a bit, but after a nap, seems to have grudging accepted the situation, but with warnings of possible more to come.
my stomach is kim jong il, and we’re still in six-party talks here.
DOH. I’m so sorry hun. Throwing up garlic is never good.
Yeah, what Foundme said. Shot glass sized portions of liquids, Gatorade if you can deal with it and a lot of water.
Oh, I’m so sorry!
Seriously tho–try the gatorade, I’m sure you’ve become dehydrated, which can make you feel even worse (if that’s possible). I think that they even have some popcicles for little kids with electrolytes in them. Maybe that would feel good for your throat. Hope you feel better soon!
Throwing Up is always A Novelty until you find yourself Falling Asleep On The Bathroom Floor, so as to be in Close Proximity to the toilet.
Hope you feel Better, ESC!
I hope you feel better soon!!
Boy is sick, too, but he isn’t hungry just freakin’ out that he isn’t hungry. He feels he should eat because that’s what people do. Boy’s are strange. What girl has ever complained about being not hungry?! It would be the curse of being woman that even though you’re puking, you want to eat. I feel for you.
