leaving…ON A JET PLANE

Today we leave for Pittsburgh for the big party reception. w00t!

well, not so w00t. Kev might be getting into some trouble at work for all the time off. I think the plan is going to be feigning illness today to leave early. However, apparently several people are taking tomorrow off, and his absence due to “illness” will not go over well.

Hopefully, he’ll still have a job when we get back. we have too many bills to pay for him to get fired!

BUT on to more pleasant things. This will be Kev’s first commercial airline flight. First time going through airport security. hooo boy. I’ve already done a liquids check. we’re good. But if they try to confiscate my knitting because of my size 1 bamboo dpns (think large toothpicks, but with blunt ends - less dangerous than a sharpened pencil), SOMEONE’S GETTING KNEED IN THE GROIN!

I apologize in advance if anyone experiences flight delays because of “crazed knitting terrorist in Atlanta”

Also, I’m having a hard time picking outerwear. i know it’s going to be cold. but is is going to be COLD cold? Or just cold? Because I have a big faux fur lined suede coat that would get me through an arctic blast, and Kev’s got an LL Bean number that will do the same for him…but do we really need them?

gah! I agonized, and ended up packing our zip up fleeces and some hats and scarves. it’s not like we’re going to be walking around outside much.

Anyway, I’m sure I’ll be posting from home. and there will be many pictures of the reception. and stuff. And Julie and Rick and Aimee and Nanner and I THINK E-lo and Ryan will be there. So it will be PARTY TIME all around!
