you know what would be awesome?

If I get home from choir practice and spend a few hours working on my presentation today, and then make the decision that because I am SO COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED, unusually exhausted, really, that I’m going to go to be before 1am…

…and then the biggest loudest fucking thunderstorm ever parks itself right above us and keeps me awake until 3am?

yeah….awesome.

I…am….so…tired…

Kev slept right through it. Bastard.

I have to give seminar today at 4. Fortunately, I just cut and paste together the powerpoint from previous lab meetings and my last committee meeting, adding A NEW DATA SLIDE HOORAY! and calling it a day. I hope I don’t fall asleep at the podium.

Oh no… IF you keep this up, you are going to start suffering from SLEEP MADNESS! You’ll be debating Sartre Versus DesCartes with Sadie at 3 in the morning, baking beef jerky muffins at 5 am…

I would babble at the meeting and then blame it on the tiredness. It would be worth a few laughs at a minimum.

Hey that storm sat over my house night before last. There was so much lightning I thought I was in a friggin disco for a couple hours. At least I didn’t have to give OR attend a seminar. Although I did hold a “flying over the fence to get back into your barn and out of the rain” class for the guineas.

I’d say good luck on your seminar but since you’ve probably already given it, I hope it went just dandy!

It did go well! I got lots of compliments afterwards. See, usually there are two speakers per seminar, so you only get 20 to 25 minutes to talk. That doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for in depth background information and explanations.

But today…I was the only one talking. So I took full advantaged, and everyone appreciated that I was able to give better explanations of how our assay system worked, and how I got the data…

Plus I got a few laughs. At one point during the background explanation, I said that one consequence of failure to maintain genomic stability was passing on of a mutation to offspring.

and I showed a picture of Storm.

    I am a total geek.
