christmas knitting…

new plan:

felted slippers for parents will be finished tonight (half of father’s left to do) but not felted until after given as gifts. this is not a “cop out” or a “why didn’t you work on them more, moron?” issue. NO IT ISN’T!!! It’s a SMART move, as this way, I will be able to felt them to my parents’ feet EXACTLY.

panta headband for brother’s girlfriend will be knitted when I have time, possibly finished while at airport/on plane on monday.

baking: done? looking forward to getting copious amounts of baked goods OUT of my kitchen and IN to the hands of some deserving friends. I did buy some more coconut for macaroons, though. In case the mood strikes.

gift wrapping - not at all done. cripes.

freaking out - yes.

Holiday plans this year are as follows: I am flying to pittsburgh on Monday afternoon. Without Kevin :( This is very sad for me. But he could not get off work the 24th or the 26th. Because he works for Mr Scrooge. And that “MOOOORRRE???” guy from “Oliver.” Then they beat him and take away his tiny crutch.

So I fly out, and Kev spends christmas ALONE. Well, not ALONE, but with SADIE. And I am WRACKED WITH GUILT, even though I am sure Kev will spend a perfectly enjoyable day sleeping in, eating scrambled eggs and bacon, and playing computer games. Then getting chinese take out and playing more games.

Next Saturday, he will load up his car, toss Sadie in the back seat, and drive up to Pittsburgh to join me for New Years. What we’re doing for New Year’s Eve is still up in the air. Any sweet parties going on in the ‘burgh? Then we’ll spend a few more days with my family, and head back when the agony is too much to take any longer.

For those keeping track at home, that’s AT LEAST a week and a half of me at my parents’ house.

Pray for me.

I hope you have a happy holiday. If you get a chance, go to Bocktown Beer and Grill. A very good friend of ours owns it and the food is awesome. It’s in Robinson Towne Center.

We’ll miss you - travel safe!

Have a safe trip. Say hi to the ‘Burgh for me!

    Merry Christmas!!!

I am jealous of Kev’s Christmas day. Sounds perfect to me.

Good luck spending all that time with the folks! You are a stronger person than me. I would feign illness and not go if I were faced with having to spend that much time with my parents without backup.

Wait, will you still have internet access at your folks house? ‘Cause if not, I forbid you to go. That’s too long without you.

Make sure you take the Wii–good video games can hide a multitude of “I’m sick of your ass”
