another weekend in pictures

I’m bored with talking about my back.  Makes me want to drink metamucil and yell at children.  I wanted to yell at children even before my back problem, but I thought I’d mention it anyway.

Me: so apparently, I have some mild arthritis in my lower back.

Mom: ha!  welcome to the family.

No love from mom.

How about some pictures instead?

I'ze hiding

I’ze hiding!  U can’t see mee!

treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat!

I can haz treatz now?

By the way, that treat on her nose?  It’s chicken jerky wrapped around a dried sweet potato.  Sadie eats better than us now.  But she ain’t gettin’ none of THIS:

apple pie

First apple pie of the season!

Confession: It’s a store bought crust.  But the apples are local!  From north Georgia!  At least that’s what the guy at the produce stand told me, and why would he lie?  What would he have to gain?  EXCEPT TO WIN MY DESPERATE HIPSTER TRUST.

OK, the next two pictures are ONLY for people who do NOT know me in real life, and who are NOT expecting a baby sometime in the next several weeks, or are married to someone who is.  OK?  You got that?  If you know me, and you’re VERY HUGELY PREGNANT, or are married to someone who is, DO NOT CLICK THE LINK AND SEE THE PICTURES BELOW.  Because it will SPOIL THE SURPRISE.  Now, if you don’t like surprises, and you totally want to ruin it, go ahead.  Be my guest.  But if you WANT to be surprised, don’t click the link.  Just let it go.  Move on.  Go read The Consumerist, or something.

pinwheel baby blanket

Pinwheel baby blanket!  Made for two very special friends who are expecting a boy or girl (see?  they LIKE surprises!  so they shouldn’t be reading this) next month.

pinwheel baby blanket

Cool spikey edging that Nell from Knitch taught me.  Wow…did that take a long time to do.  Craziness.  But worth it!

This blanket is so amazingly soft.  And the Rowan Purelife cotton was wonderful to knit with - not annoying or painful like most cotton yarns.  Knit on size 5 needles, and used 5+ about 1/3 of a 6th balls of Purelife (the edging was 1 1/3 balls by itself).  I knit each color until I ran out.  I’m so happy with how this turned out.  I hope my friends like it!

jerkey wrapped sweet potato. . .that’s a lot better than my initial guess of a bacon wrapped cheese puff :)

I made applesauce with GA apples yesterday. We’ve been watching Season 1 of Pushing Daisies, and I’m craving pie.
