let sleeping dogs lie

Ever since we moved Sadie into her cubby, her old bed has been…an issue. It wasn’t quite big enough to fit properly, she hung over the edge of the cubby, and the bed would work it’s way out out out and on to the floor. I tried putting one of our old body pillows in front, but that didn’t work the way it was intended to. When her bed would slide forward and halfway out, she’d just try to lie on the pillow instead:

ennui

sleepy Sadie

iz nice pillow, but too small!

The pillow and bed were too floppy to stay in place. My back-of-the-mind plan was to buy some foam or egg crate to stuff into her bed to make it more stable and not as slippy. But then today at Costco, we found a bed!!! It’s big and hangs over the edge, which works just as well because she likes to lay facing forward and couldn’t really do that before.

do I like new bed?

dis new bed? i’m not so sure…do i like eet?

iz comfy, I guess...

    Poor Sadie………being abused as usual.

    Very nice bed, Sadie. My cats would kill for one. Oh, wait, no, they sleep in my bed. On top of me, because Rick won’t let them sleep on his side.

    We just put way too much energy in to the comfort of our dogs. PoPo has this ugly full-sized comforter that she curls up in and I have been contemplating getting her a prettier one. What does she care? It smells like dog.
