rays of hope and sunshine

The fridge is fixed! Actually, it was fixed thursday. I gave up a day off to wait all morning and afternoon to wait for the repair guy. He finally showed up at 4. He came in walked behind the fridge (which we had already helpfully pulled out and into the dining room for easy access), took a 0.05second look, and said “well, I see what your problem is right now.”

Dude. I am paying for you to come here and fix my fridge. Please make it look like you’re earning that money by…you know…poking around with a screwdriver. Maybe swearing a bit under your breath. Shake your head and give me sad yet understanding looks. Don’t cheerfully announce how obvious the problem is.

$287 later, he replaced this part.

start relay

It’s a little bigger than a plastic pencil sharpener. It’s called the “start relay” for the compressor, and apparently, they tend to burn out. For no good reason. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Home ownership is so fun.

*sigh*

It’s good to have cold food again, though.

I worked friday, and went shopping. Bras! Bras that fit! It’s amazing! I can toss out some old stretched and ripped ones, though. It’s amazing how long I’ll tolerate being incredibly uncomfortable. Today I walked around with that confident, perky, NEW BRA feeling. Whooooo! Everyone should go out and buy new bras RIGHT NOW!

I also ordered new shoes. From an online store I haven’t tried before. They had dansko shoes for SUSPICIOUSLY CHEAP. Other sites like zappos had them for over $100. This place had them for much less. I bought a pair of sandals and a pair of mary janes, total $108 - because oh yeah, WE ARE ROLLING IN MONEY, RIGHT? AFTER ALL MY BITCHING? But I need shoes for work, and these were too good a deal to pass up. Plus we didn’t have to buy a whole NEW fridge! Just about a 3rd of one to pay for a tiny tiny part! *weep*

Danskos are good shoes, right? still, SUSPICIOUS! I will hold off further judgment until they come on tuesday.

Cute, right?

Anyway…

Time for some Sunday Sadie.

I highly recommend footprints.com for cheap danskos. They have a great return policy.

Danskos are really good shoes. A lot of the doctors in my hospital wear them for all day standing and walking comfort. So do several of my teacher friends. Plus they are super cute!

I love the red shoes. I really ought to go for something other than plain boring black next time!
