The socks…they go so slowly…
But eventually, they get done:
Plain Jane basic toe ups, in a not so plain jane yarn. Interlacements Tiny Toes in the Simply Reds colorway. As usual, the first sock took a week, and the second sock took…alot longer. I had hoped to speed the process by carrying the second sock with me in my purse so as to knit on it when I was out and about and had a few minutes of waiting around time.
Apparently, I don’t get out and about enough. Even my choir started to laugh at me. “Weren’t you working on that same sock last week…in about the same place???”
Shut up.
But since I finished the EvilChick bag, I’ve been trying to to finish up all the UFO’s I have laying around (that’s UnFinished Objects, to those not in the know) before I start some serious Christmas knitting. The socks are done, and I loves them. I picked up a bottle of Soak at Knitch on sunday (someone somewhere told me washing handknits in shampoo was BAD and WRONG and NO BISCUIT FOR YOU!), and wow…I love it, too! My socks are soft and they smell WONDERFUL. Mmmmmm…can’t stop smelling my feet!
So now my attention turns to a project I put down months ago and really need to finish. My lace scarf
It’s coming along. But I’m feeling very…distracted.
Like something is calling to me. I can’t put my finger on it.
My fingers itch to cast something on. Something new and exciting. A new love affair to get my heart pounding again.
I just don’t know what. It’s very frustrating. I really need to finish my lace. But…
Can’t seem to keep my head on straight. Frustrating!
Focus! We got SAFF coming up with all sorts of more potential distractions!
I’M TRYING! But somehow this sock yarn got wound into two balls of equal weight, and this pdf sock pattern just printed itself out!
IT’S A MYSTERY HOW ALL THIS IS HAPPENING!!!
Oooh, shiny!
As much as my UFOs are calling me (and they are, believe me), if I am to get all the Christmas knitting done with this stoopid carpal tunnel, the Christmas knitting must become my first priority. One lace scarf for one sis-in-law, a lace shawl for the other, socks for Rick’s mom, socks for my friend Lori, an Odessa hat for the Youngest, a Dark Mark scarf for the oldest, a scarf and hat for Rick (he got entirely shafted on the knits last Christmas and desperately wants them this year)…and I know I’m forgetting people. *sigh*
And yet, all my STR yarn is calling me… *doublesigh*
Whoever told you shampoo was bad was trying to sell you wool wash. Not that your wool wash isn’t super wonderful and nice-stinking, mind you.
Christmas knitting. I laugh. I smirk. I better start on my husband’s sweater.
