*blink*
what just happened? did the week just blur by me? I’m not sure. It says in my archives that I haven’t blogged since monday, but that CAN’T be true, because normally, you can’t shut me up with a tire iron. But yeah…no blogging.
We got SLAMMED at work this week. All those people who didn’t realize they could ask us to do things? Figured it out. Big time. We had two big ASAP jobs that kept us on overtime (sweet!) to finish up. This made today especially go by really fast. Except for some disappointing thai food…
what? you have a restaurant in the middle of an office district, and you DON’T deliver? And your lunch specials don’t come with soup? and your portions are small yet you charge the same as other places??? you suck, and you are crossed off my list, Thai Rice Cafe!
…for lunch, it was a very good and productive day.
fun experiment: If you ride the train, and everyone is just standing or sitting on the platform waiting for the train, get up in a hurry and start walking towards the front of the platform. See how many people get up from their comfy bench and follow you! Also, if you are walking into the station, cock your head to the side, and just start running towards the platform. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THERE ARE NO OBVIOUS SIGNS OF AN APPROACHING TRAIN! People will think you have SUPAH SPECIAL TRAIN ESP and will follow you.
NICE THINGS: I must have been a nice person in a previous life, because I got a gift today! From Knitwitch and her hubby Wayne, who is quite the prolific potter. They read my post about my addiction to large handmade purple mugs, and decided to become enablers.
Isn’t it beautiful? I love it! Can’t you just see sitting by a nice roaring fire, all curled up with this mug full of steaming hot cocoa?
pft, are you NUTS? It’s in the 90’s here! friggin’ HOT!
Well, anyway, this is a FAB gift and I LOVE IT, and it will hold many cold AND hot drinks for many many years. Thanks Knitwitch and Wayne! Be sure to check out their yarn site, and if you like Wayne’s work, he also makes some mighty fine yarn bowls (I love mine!).
And while I’m hoaring out my friends to you, you might notice another banner button on my sidebar - It’s La! She’s selling yarn now! Go check out her etsy site - sadly the color I wanted sold before I got it (TRAGIC CHERRIES! BY MISSING OUT IT CREATES ONLY MORE WOECAKE!), but I will be keeping my eye out for shop updates!
If you have a shop or a contest or fundraiser you’d like to promote and you’d like to get a big ole’ button banner on my sidebar, drop me a line, we’ll talk, have some coffee, no big whoop. No bribery with nice things required
That is one sweet mug!
I really do need to get my girlfriend to start making her art again. She’s a ceramicist. The real sticking point is getting her 220 volt electric kiln up and running again…
PRETTY! I LOVE that mug!
YAY!!! I’m SO glad you like the mug! I almost kept it for myself! I love the ridges in it!
Dude–all your friends with kids in their lives who ever need to wear things like… oh, I dunno… CLOTHES… they should all come to my site and buy lots and lots of stuff from me (so I can quit my day job and do this FULL TIME!)
Aimee - done
Very cool mug - and I thought of you when I saw the tragic cherry yarn at La’s shop.
You’re so busy hoaring everyone else’s stuff, what about your Etsy shop? I found out they have cool little widgets you can put in your sidebar now (note the SavvyBrooklyn one on my blog), you should do the same!
If only I had anything in my shop to sell!
oh well…one day I’ll get it up and running again.
The title of this post worried me for just a minute glad me worry was unfounded.
The mug is outrageously cooooool on a stick!!
Do they have an Etsy shop with more cool on a stick mugs? I need more shit I can’t move. I also need more cool coffee muggage since my best ones are still held hostage in MI.
