as-was

Today was supposed to be a lazy day.  Pajamas, hot cups of tea, CNN, my spinning wheel…

We weren’t supposed to do a damn thing.  That was the plan, until at around 2:17pm, I heard this emanate from the spare bedroom, aka Kev’s Manputer room.

“So how about we head out to Amaryn’s for a late lunch and then go to Ikea?”

There are few things on earth that will make me willingly give up an afternoon of completely laziness.  The combination of my favorite thai noodle place and Ikea was like a double whammy - sloth didn’t stand a chance next to greed.

So an afternoon of wandering Ikea it was - we were really there to do some research on our future kitchen remodel - NOT to buy anything.  And by “not buy anything” I mean “not buy anything relating to the kitchen remodel” because you KNOW I need to stock up on swedish scented candles, cork trivets, and frozen meatballs.

We made some decisions about the kitchen, changed things around a bit, spoke with Ron, Ikea kitchen expert, who was very helpful,  etc, etc.  I think we might do a mix of white and black doors on the cabinets…the cheaper countertops, and ohhh my, we fell in love with a country style double sink.  Porcelain, which yeah, has its drawbacks, but OOHHHH so pretty!  For $300 though…that’s going to take some thinking about.

And then…our final stop before grabbing a couple hotdogs on our way out…the as-is department.

Where…we fell down a bit. We didn’t plan on buying anything for the kitchen yet…but we saved almost $200…and really, the damage isn’t SO bad…fixable!  Will hardly be noticable…

a clue

…to be continued!
