risen indeed
10March 24th, 2008dailySaturday, Kev and I had our traditional “cheap date” afternoon - lunch at costco (total: $4) and then a movie at the cheapie theater (total: $2). We saw “meet the spartans.” I will save you 2 hours of your life by telling you that you don’t need to see it. Though if you just want to watch some light, fluffy, potty humor, it’s your movie. We chuckled at a few parts.
Sunday we went to church. I’m in the choir, so we tried very hard not to screw up the latin tribute to Mary Magdalene we sang during communion…and failed a bit. But I don’t think anyone noticed because hey! it’s in latin! And it wasn’t supposed to be in unison - all the parts sang different things! I love singing in latin.
Afterwards Kev and I went for Easter Brunch at Ru-sans. Mmmm…sushi bar! The traditional Easter feast! I could eat nothing more than their sweet potato tempura slices for the rest of my life and be content. Sooooo goooood…
Through rapid twitters and texting, we managed to meet up at Ikea with Grace, her hubby B, and his son G. We spent a lovely afternoon perusing the beautiful and efficient goods of the Swedes. Grace and B were there looking for bathroom cabinets. They managed to buy…everything but bathroom cabinets. We picked up some light fixtures to replace the one in the kitchen (one of the connectors went bad) and to do some creative re-lighting of the dining room. I also got a drastically reduced wall cabinet that will become the new home of my spice and her collection…as soon as I can find some wall space for it.
All in all, a very pleasant way to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Amen.

I’m pretty sure I had a few religious moments in IKEA. And the bathroom cabinets? Why is it we could come up with 4 different bathroom choices while we’re in the store that we want and yet buy none of them? WHY?

Sweet potato tempura? Oh, man that sounds heavenly!
And I am very familiar with the “go to Ikea with a plan and come home with everything but that” event. It’s sadly common in my life.

Ikea AND sushi! What more does a girl need!?!

The Scoot
Well, Patsy, some say a washing machine with an unbalanced load is a girl’s best friend.

I am one of the very few people I know that does not like sushi. Maybe I’ve just not tried the right kind? I dunno
Happy Easter though!

Grace must’ve been a hoot at Ikea! BTW, where IS Ikea?

Seth
Yikes. What were your other movie choices?
What did your lunch consist of for $4 at Costco?
Ikea is great Christina! I hope you find it!

Jen - try a veggie sushi, or shrimp roll. Those tend to be tamer. and get it from an actual sushi restaurant, not pre-packaged in a grocery store.
Christina - it’s in the new atlantic station complex near downtown. YOU MUST GO. it is a religious experience.
Seth - well, it was either meet the spartans or I am legend, and we were both more in a mood for a comedy. Lunch at Costco: 2 hotdog/drink combos: $3, and one churro to split: $1. $4 total. I love the costco lunch!

Tempura’s the only way to eat sweet potatoes–and the only way I like them.
I wonder if I can get a dose of Beef Tataki in this little town? I might have to go looking around.

Mmmm. Tempura sweet potatoes. Must.eat.sushi. I love sea eel and yellow fin and and and LOTS of wasabi. I seriously have a wasabi addiction.
This may be a little personal, but I noticed that you recently started hinting around your faith on your blog. Maybe I haven’t been reading long enough or what ever. How do you balance your faith with blogging. There are so many anti-Christians out there and even more who go “ewww you’re Christian” and automatically assume you’re a pompous a**. Ehhh. Maybe I’m just not ready to come out of the closet yet.
