the gainfully employed

I had trouble sleeping last night, tossed and turned.  And woke up early this morning to some yappy dog going off outside.  GEEZ!  Thought I heard my cell phone beep, got up, checked, nope.  Settled back into bed.  Just as I was drifting off, I heard Greenday (dooo you have the time, to listen to me whine…), I don’t think I touched the floor between the bedroom and living room to grab my phone.  It was the staffing agency woman, calling to tell me that I was the top candidate for the job I interviewed for on Tuesday. purple haze

When I was a little girl, my favorite color was purple. Other girls liked pink. And barbies. But I was not so much a fan of the Barbie - unless it was to crudely hand sew clothing for her using scraps of fabric my grandmother gave me. I liked purple. And unicorns. And pegasuses. Pegasi? I had been working very slowly on some fiber I bought last year (but only actually got a few months ago) from copper pot woolies. I love the colors, but for some reason, I really fought with this fiber. It might have been a little felted, or maybe just stickier than I’m used to. But I still managed to spin a fairly decent yarn with it. I finished spinning and started plying last night, and then finished plying this afternoon. More »

I wish my life were more interesting lately, but it’s not. Work is work. Kev’s job is still sucking right now. Finding better jobs is not going so well. Bleah. More »
