Show and tell day!
Remember the contest from last week? Sponsored by Andrea, and won by Pam? Because she’s a sweetheart, Andrea made me a thank you gift!
Isn’t it adorable? I love it. It holds my lace project perfectly, and closes securely. So nice!
Speaking of lace:
For some reason, it is unbelieveably difficult to photograph silver sparkles. So please imagine this with silver strands throughout, making it MESMERIZING. So much so that I think when I’m done with it, I will have to carry around a baseball bat to thwack potential thieves in the shins. This is the Shipwreck shawl, and it’s coming along nicely, thanks to an altered 3rd chart provided to me by Chickengoddess, though I think Archergal was the one to figure it out (correct me if I’m wrong, ladies). SO if you’re knitting this pattern and something is looking wrong…the third chart might be borked. Sorry.
The beads came last week, so when I start adding them, I’ll take more pictures.
I did some spinning! I procured some of Gale’s new alpaca/silk blend from Knitch and ooooooh my god, it is lovely. I spun it as thin as I could, and left it single ply.
I got 300 yards out of it, so I’m keeping an eye out for a nice cowl or scarf. It is soooo soft…I want it close to my face so I can feel the softness all the time!
Unless I can knit a bra out of it…yeah…that would be…awesome…
SADIE TIME!

Sadie is awesome as always. Actually J came up with the fixes in the first set of leaves and I came up with the fixes in the second set. So it was a collaborative effort. Your spinning is OMGunbelievable! I am so jealous.
Oh. My. Goodness.
Sadie is absolutely beautiful, and amazingly patient. Poop-Head would never do that. You should be a proud Mommy….
I’m going to wait to hear your prognosis through the beading attempts before I consider knitting Shipwreck.
That shawl is going to be AWESOME.
I used the pattern as written in Knitty, before she put the places to move the beginning of round marker. I think Alma went back to the BW source-pattern and charted it out in ways that made better sense to her.
CUTE bag! And Shipwreck is going to be gorgeous. I still don’t know how you get Sadie to sit so still. She’s such a patient puppy.
Sadie totally rocks. Your spinning is gorgeous!!!!
Mah bag came today. I LURVES it!!! Need to get good pics so I can tell the world how awesome it is.
wow! sadie’s goooood. Cash & Sunni wouldn’t let me get that close with a cookie in my hand – it would have been devoured right away!
The fabric choice on the andreajene bag is great – I left about 8:30 the night of choosing fabrics, so I didn’t see the final one! LOVE IT!
