I like to buy tomatoes on the vine, because they seem riper than the normal paleish hothouse variety, even when tomatoes are still in season. I try to find the number I need all on one vine, though, because I don’t like to break up families.
I’ve never bought tomatoes sold like that–they just look too good to be true, ya know?
they are definitely good…and true! I think they are tastier. If I can’t get them, I get roma, which always look at least a little better than the hothouse tomaters.
I usually stick to the romas too unless there’s hydroponic tomatoes floating around the produce department. Those are a nice nummy touch too.
