A soothing balm for me right now. Also: coffee. As in, here is my new favorite mug:
Now that’s a big cup of coffee. Fits the entire contents of my french press.
Have I mentioned that I’m the hat person for the Yarn Harlot’s visit next week? At stops on her book tour, someone has collected hats made by knitters to donate to local charities. A few days ago, I realized that OMG, NO ONE REMEMBERED THIS AND SHE’S COMING NEXT WEEK! So I volunteered. Hats will be going to:
So we need hats for all ages – please, please knit like the wind! It does indeed get darned cold in atlanta during the winter, so we need hats! It doesn’t take very long. Knitty’s tychus is my personal fav, and it is a super quick knit. Here are two hats I’ve made just in the past couple days, lovingly modeled by my favorite supermodel:
She’s so street.
Last night I had a strong desire to be around a lot of people, so I hiked it over to The Knitch for the Thursday night knitting group, and to check out their cool new upstairs area. Click on the pics for exciting info.
It’s funny, sometimes when I’m down, my instinct is to hunker down. To stay in my pjs all day and watch law and order and block out the world. But when I fight it and get out amongst the living, I feel sooo much better. Thanks, guys, for cheering me up!

It was great seeing you last night.
I love the mug.
I’m remarkably bad around large groups of people. But I really feel like I’m missing out on all the fun at Knitch. ;(
I covet your coffee cup almost as much as your awesome yarn store.
I’m coming to break into your house to steal your Immense Mug of Awesomeness. Tell Sadie I’ll need her to hold the flashlight, k?
Yes, I’m going back to bed soon, hush…
Ooooo… I want that mug!! Is it one of those paint yourself ones? If I tried one of those, it would look horrendous. But, you’d probably be able to do something cool, like said mug. You’re just crafty that way.
Your model is fab, btw. Love the shot with the hat over her eyes. Very artsy.
not my painting, no. I bought it from a ceramic artist at a festival in pittsburgh. and you have NO IDEA how long it took to pick that one. do I like the colors? how about the shape…this one is taller but this one has a more stable bottom. this one matches our dishes, but this one has a leaf design on it. I think the artist was about to wring my mom and my necks.
What a gorgeous mug!
Who? Where? How do I get one? Love that!!!
