Those with dirtier minds will be disappointed with this post.
My sweet mary janes. Made with sugar and cream cotton yarn – perfect for wearing around the house in the summer. They did turn out a bit big, even with me tweaking the pattern – does anyone know if sugar and cream shrinks? I may wash and run them through the dryer to see. They were very easy to make, except I learned that crocheting with cotton (the blue trim and strap are crochet, the rest is knit) is 10 times harder than knitting with it. I actually have sore muscles.
Banana Oatmeal bread. From a cooking light mag…I forgot the issue. You want to be here with me right now, because the smell of this baby fresh out of the oven is heeeeeeaaaavenly. I still have one severely brown banana left, though. Maybe I’ll have a smoothie with my banana bread breakfast.
The books I ordered for myself a while back finally came. I started reading Houseworks: Cut the Clutter, Speed Your Cleaning and Calm the Chaos, which looks like it may save our sanity. Some people are born with the cleaning and organization genes. I was not. I was able to limp along ok on my own for a few years, but add another crap-throwing monkey to the pen (HI KEV!) and this place became a total disaster. This book recommends working in small areas, organizing in 10 or 15 minutes segments. So with that logic, this place will be clean and organized in….10 years. But it will be WORTH IT!

You knitting with cotton = my hero. Cotton kills my wrists. But your mary janes are super super cute!
P.S. I’ll be just outside the Atlanta area Saturday. Unfortunately no fun trip to IKEA for me. Instead, I’m going to a baby shower. I thought I would let you know prior to rather than after so as to not ruffle your feathers again.
Yay, craftiness!
I have several cotton washclothes, and they don’t shrink in the washer or dryer, sorry. And I actually prefer crocheting with cotton, which I think makes me weird, I guess!
