I do not have funky/odd/hilarious ornaments because this is the first year I’ve actually had a tree! I went for fancy, not funny (so unlike me!)
If I had kids, I would have the most outrageous popcorn and popsicle stick tree ever!
AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGG!!!! the pain that comes from seeing this ornament is only soothed by the spanking that the Gators gave the ‘Noles a couple of weeks ago AND the fact that the BCS in all it’s wisdom (for this year, at least)is supporting an Ohio State/Univ. of Florida Bowl Championship Game.

Tot – one day maybe I’ll have a fancy tree with all matching coordinated ornaments. but as long as my mom and family keep giving me corny yet cute hallmark ones, I get the eclectic funky tree. i do try to keep the blue and silver theme going, though.

Of course, Mr. would prefer to just bring IN the real bikes and decorate those, but he can’t get his through the door – handlebars are too wide. I’m so not even kidding you, either. He tried.
Lovely tree! We have no ornaments on ours yet, but we always put up a few obligatory Giants ornaments (the Wife’s team). I’ll have pictures once it’s decorated.
My first room mate on USS Bainbridge was a big Seminoles fan. Obsessive even. It was kind of sad, actually.
Nice tree. How are the lights wired in? Incandescents are so twentieth century, yo. They can burn out, their heat dries the tree out, they suck power, and, I know this isn’t an issue with you, a responsible adult, but if wired incorrectly, they can cause a fire.
You should get LED Christmas lights for next year. A string left on for eight hours a day for 45 days costs, like, two bucks, while a conventional string would cost 60, they produce nearly no heat, and you would have to be truly deranged to cause a short with them.
Oh, and they never burn out. Ever. You can pass a string down to your grandchildren.
I did look at the LED lights. maybe next year – i’ve spent way more than my normal christmas decoration budget this year.
the incandescents are not so bad – the newer ones don’t get as hot as ones in the past – I touched on that had already been on several hours and it was barely warm. also, we keep our tree well watered, so it doesn’t dry out. AND we only put the lights on when it gets dark, and shut them off before bed.
so fire risk is minimal.
our christmas safety is secure.
It’s A Good Thing that Totally Awesome Boyfriend and I Don’t Celebrate Christmas. Because if We Did, he would want to put An Evil New York Yankees Ornament on the tree. And that simply Would Not Be Tolerated.

My tree is funky – it’s got many Hallmark ornaments (I heart my Frosty Friends ornaments. And my “chipmunk wearing Steelers colors” ornament.) as well as some that I’ve made over the years. I will take pictures. The tree makes me happy.
